2009年、北海道釧路市生まれ。5歳からコルネットを吹き始め、9歳から本格的にトランペットを始める。2024年、第39回日本管打楽器コンクールトランペット部門において、全部門での史上最年少で第1位、及び文部科学大臣賞、東京都知事賞を受賞。併せて特別大賞（内閣総理大臣賞）を受賞。2025年、第6回ウィーン国際音楽コンクール金賞、第3回コダーイ国際音楽コンクール第5位を受賞。その他にも、日本ジュニア管打楽器コンクール、日本クラシック音楽コンクール、大阪国際音楽コンクールなど、数々のコンクールで優勝している。
これまでに、N響、読響、東響、東京フィル、新日本フィル、札響、山響、仙台フィル、群響、名古屋フィル、大阪響、日本センチュリー響、広響等と共演。2026/2027シーズンでは、都響、日本フィル、OEK、関西フィルと共演予定。「クラシック音楽館」「クラシックTV」「題名のない音楽会」「EIGHT-JAM」「日曜日の初耳学」など、多くのテレビ番組に出演している。
これまでにトランペットを松田次史、辻本憲一の両氏に師事。その他にも、イエルーン・ベルワルツ、セルゲイ・ナカリャコフ、ガヴォール・タルケヴィー、クリストファー・マーティンの各氏など、著名な奏者のレッスンやマスタークラスを多数受講。2024, 2025年度ヤマハ音楽支援制度奨学生。第7回服部真二音楽賞《Rising Star》を受賞。
2025年2月に1stアルバム「Reverberate」をリリース。同年8月には、自身初となる全国ツアー7公演を開催。2026年9月には、サントリーホール大ホールでのリサイタルを予定している。現在、カールスルーエ音楽大学のプレカレッジにて、ラインホルト・フリードリヒ氏に師事。
Hayato Kodama
Born in 2009 in Kushiro, Hokkaido, Japan. Began playing the cornet at the age of five and started studying the trumpet seriously at nine.
In 2024, at the 39th Japan Wind and Percussion Competition, won 1st Prize in the trumpet category as the youngest winner in the history of all categories. Also received the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award, the Governor of Tokyo Award, and the Special Grand Prize (Prime Minister’s Award).
In 2025, won the Gold Prize at the 6th Vienna International Music Competition and 5th Prize at the 3rd Kodály International Music Competition. In addition, has received top prizes at numerous competitions, including the Japan Junior Wind and Percussion Competition, Japan Classical Music Competition, and Osaka International Music Competition.
Has performed as a soloist with leading orchestras in Japan, including NHK Symphony Orchestra, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, New Japan Philharmonic, Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, Yamagata Symphony Orchestra, Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, Gunma Symphony Orchestra, Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra, Osaka Symphony Orchestra, Japan Century Symphony Orchestra, and Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra.
Studied trumpet under Tsugufumi Matsuda and Kenichi Tsujimoto. Has also participated in masterclasses and received instruction from renowned trumpeters such as Reinhold Friedrich, Jeroen Berwaerts, Sergei Nakariakov, Gábor Tarkövi, and Christopher Martin.Currently studies at the Pre-College of the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe under Reinhold Friedrich.
A Yamaha Music Scholarship recipient for the 2024 and 2025 academic years, and the winner of the 7th Shinji Hattori Music Award “Rising Star”.
Released a debut album Reverberate in February 2025. In August 2025, conducted a first nationwide recital tour consisting of seven concerts across Japan. A recital at Suntory Hall (Main Hall) is scheduled for September 2026.
